With a few more things caught up with in the real life and the weather more outdoors friendly we have found our way back to the WAVE. A start in St. George where we left, has us now in Page Arizona. The Zion National Forest is most breath taking with its rock formations and colors. Fellow cyclers are more abundant now than in the earlier portion of the wave, making ones mind not feel so alone. Having more daylight hours also allows for a few more sights to be seen along the way. Unfortunately we still ran into that place that we were so looking forward to having a stop at, CLOSED !!

One can’t appreciate Hawaii’s friendliness until they have traveled through several states on the Bicycle, waving at a broader spectrum of people traveling the road systems. You have to break down the population of our 50th State into long time residents, and those who like us are there to enjoy the Beauty and head back from where we came. Riding early on the West end of the island of Maui most everyone waved, plus smiled as they passed headed to work, with those being older seeming to be friendlier. Most of those who had rented cars and traveled the Hana Highway like us seemed to bring their attitudes from home, with those from small venues quite friendly and approachable, whereas those that seemed to be there at their wives or girlfriends desires just seemed not to be having fun, nor were they going to wave, though the ladies waved and smiled alot, plus probaly gave their boyfriends or husbands crap that if Old Guy could ride The Hana Highway then they should be able to ride or walk with them at their State of Residence. The laid backness of the Hawaiians, plus actual cost of food and fuel for your vehichle was either exellent for groceries, to not bad, considering gas had to be shipped in and still cost under California’s prices with their huge oil refineries. Maui is definitely a place to live, now all I need is to get Kay some employment…………..

NO, It is Not the End of the Journey!! Earnest Thompson Seaton’s “Biography of a Grizzly told of TWO KINDS of Grizzlies- The Mountain Grizz which stood and roared his defiance at the mountain men and became a claw necklace for his effort -and- The Bitterroot Grizz that made his mind up fast to either “Fight or Flee”, depending on which would allow survival, then carry out his plan instantaneously, which is what we did when we headed back to Meeteetse when snow storms looked to hold us up every other day, slowly draining very precious amounts of finances, to sit still, instead of making the minimum 100 miles per day needed to accomplish the task of traveling through all 50 States before we run out of our money. So we loaded up the bicycles and headed home to do some pojects that absolutely needed done before we left, such as putting pictures on our Web Page of “Photos we have for Sale”, along with pictures of Cattle for Sale. We will be able to Sale both to help finance our “Ride The Wave” trip once they are on there!! But if we continued to ride we would not be able to have the time nor equipment to put them on the Web Page – http://www.greatbearreflection.com as we can now do. We will hope to Blog daily with pictures From the ride in continuity from Hawaii to Utah. We plan to ride through Yellowstone on to Idaho, Montana, up through Canada on to Alaska late May. By late July we should be back on the road running our intended route of yesterday in reverse?? Stay tuned as we are Excited and Determined!!

Big running Gun Battle on the Strip has it closed down for the day if not longer!! Three dead of which two were in a cab that blew up when hit in intersection!! We are about to try to get out of Vegas down the road somewhere back to I-15 and unload the bicycle and ride to ST George where we will pull the stake on this trip and head to Meeteetse to regroup and plan for the other 43 states in a safer, more efficient manner than the “Fly By the Seat of Our Pants” we have done for the last 1500+ miles?? We will be catching up this Blog with Pictures and Thoughts, plus tales along the way of our first thirty days away from home and 17? days of riding. Be Safe out there!!!
